What is Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is a special experience that is often mystified and hugely misunderstood. It is also often over complicated by some practitioners and those that observe the practice. Hypnosis is a fascinating phenomena that takes place in the human mind. The term is usually used to describe a trance like state, but in reality, we go into mild trance-like states every day.  These trances occur in those moments when we daydream, when we become so focused on something that we block out everything else or when we zone out while watching television, reading a book or listening to presentation.

There is nothing wrong with going into a trance. It is quite safe and natural. The trace-like phases in hypnosis are very beneficial to us as humans. It allows us to connect with, and use our thoughts, talents and experiences in ways that we are unable to connect and use them while in a conscious state. Hypnosis takes place within that space and time when our attention becomes selective and focused. During that focused state of hypnosis, positive hypnotic suggestions are sent directly to your subconscious mind, which is the authority in behavioral changes.

There is a misconception that during hypnosis the subject is asleep or unaware of themselves and their surroundings. During hypnosis, the subject is actually in a wakeful state where they are deeply relaxed yet have a heightened level of suggestibility and a focused level of awareness.

The heightened state of mind is the vehicle that will enable you the subject to use hypnosis to naturally and safely make changes to your beliefs, and patterns of thinking. Hypnosis is used to overcome depression, low self esteem issues, diseases and various other factors that are related to ones stat of mind.

How Does Hypnosis Work?

Hypnosis has a grand impact on the brain that can be measured scientifically. The process involves getting the subject into a deep state of relaxation where the brain will then shift its activity. If a  brain scan should be done while you’re in a stat of hypnosis, it will show that you’re brainwave activity is at the level it was during the earlier years of your live when your mind was able to absorb information and incorporate it immediately.

During hypnosis, this increased rate of learning activity bypasses your conscious mind, causing your unconscious beliefs and perspectives to change quickly and naturally. The limitations and worries that cause us to experience many of the challenges and discomforts we have to deal with in life are contained in our unconscious mind. Your subconscious mind can only be accessed when your conscious mind goes to rest and it takes over. You can then access the thoughts and experiences that influence the way you think and behave, and make the necessary changes.

During an hypnotic session, the hypnotist will use subtle hypnotic commands to place you in a mild trance-like state, causing your subconscious mind to basically go inactive. At this stage, your subconscious mind can be accessed directly, and positive suggestions  can be introduced, giving the subconscious mind the go ahead to note and make the necessary changes.  

The hypnotist will stress the importance of not resisting the suggestions given. Once there’s no conscious resistance, the subconscious mind will make the suggested changes to your belief systems. These belief systems usually long ago experiences that are not beneficial, but they become so much a part of us that we hang on to and are defensive of them, therefore resisting change.

Hypnosis will allow the mind to bypass this logical and conscious thinking process so that the subconscious mind is open for suggestions. The changes are made internally, consequently your beliefs are altered directly, and the negative perceptions you had of yourself, life and the world around you will change.

What style of Hypnosis do you use?

We use a combination of hypnosis styles in our practice. These include Transactional Analysis, Parts Therapy, Ericksonian Hypnosis, Gustalt Therapy and strategic interventions.

Can everybody be hypnotized?

The simple answer is “Yes,” but there are two major factors one has to understand when it comes to hypnosis.

  1. The notion or myth that not everyone is susceptible to hypnosis is embedded in a past where hypnotists would try to hypnotize everyone the same way all the time. That approach was faulty, as everyone has a different personality type and learning preference. Researches done since the mid-1900’s have revealed quite a lot about the mental processes of the listener, and how to adjust the hypnosis approach to fit the mental pattern of individual listeners. It is now possible to hypnotize everyone.

  1. Stage, movie and TV hypnotists has also influenced the spreading of the myth that some people cannot be hypnotized. Only an approximate 7% of the population possesses the right processing style to get to that very deep level trance that is required to experience that kind of hypnosis. The absence of that processing style in the other 93% of the people who underwent hypnosis made it seem as if they were not hypnotizable.

We have all entered a type of hypnosis at some point or the other. It is not an out of this world occurrence as some make it out to be. Hypnosis is just another natural state of consciousness. We experience mild forms of it every day. The simple acts of concentrating/focusing, learning, reading, being totally absorbed in watching the television are all forms of hypnosis. During those periods, your subconscious mind is engaged and open to the information being passed on by the medium that has your attention. While listening to our albums, you will fall into a similar state of mind, so that you are open to accept the new information that is suggested.

What If I Can’t Be Hypnotized?

Listen, hypnosis is a natural state of mind. Have you ever daydreamed? Driven past your destination? Read a book and hours went by? Those are all hypnotic states of mind.

Think of it like this. You have a situation. You are overweight (or you wouldn’t be reading this now). Somewhere along the line you have adopted a belief or program that doesn’t make sense any longer. Whenever you accept an idea, no matter what that idea is, we call it hypnosis. All things suggested to you whether by others or by yourself is nothing more than a belief system. What we do is offer your mind/body a new possibility and in a certain way your mind/body gets it.

Can you remember a time when you made a decision to do something like buy a car, a home, a new dress or pair of pants? Your mind has a blueprint for making positive decisions and we simply help that part of your mind decide to lose weight. Once you get it, you got it!

What does it feel like?

We all experience different feelings when we enter hypnosis. Even for one individual, no two hypnotic experiences are the same. Some sessions are deeper and more intense than others, and you may have a deeper more intense session than someone else using the same album.

While under hypnosis, the level of comfort and deep relaxation you will experience as the session progresses, may influence your ability to remember or not remember everything that is said to you.

The reason is that some of us are simply more susceptible to hypnosis than others and will go into a deeper trance. You will also find that the more you use and get accustomed to our album, it becomes easier to for you to enter a trance of a certain depth where you will not remember everything. That level of trance will allow you to benefit even more from the hypnosis. By using our album repeatedly, you will train your mind to more readily enter a state of hypnosis each time you listen. Each session will end with you being brought back to reality, alert, refreshed and energized.

Is it better to enter a “deep trance”?

 The powerful benefits that you will receive from an hypnosis session will not be altered if you are fully alert throughout or if you are in a deep trance and do not remember much of what was said during the session.

We are all different, and while some will most often go into a deep trance, there are those who will rarely experience the same. The more you engage in hypnosis, the easier it will become to enter a trance. The experience for each session will be different, as the trance will be deeper at times than at others.  There’s really no need to be concerned about the level of trance you achieve at each session as your subconscious mind will take care of necessary details. You must trust your subconscious mind. It does an outstanding job when it comes to natural trance formation and hypnosis. All you’ll need to do is relax, enjoy the experience and the powerful benefits.

Will I lose control?

The simple answer is No… Hypnosis is a safe practice and in spite of what you have seen on TV or heard through other mediums, you will never lose control. There will be no negative effects, and you will be in total control of your experience. Hypnosis can only take place if you allow it. It cannot occur if it’s against your will.

While hypnosis is a very powerful tool, it requires your cooperation and willingness for it to work. You have to be open, willing and serious about making a change. Hypnosis can be the most powerful ally for overcoming any struggles you may be experiencing. It will boost your will power, strengthen your resolve so that you are much more likely to overcome and succeed.

Can I get stuck in a trance?

You cannot get stuck in a trance any more than you can get stuck in your sleep. Every night while you fall asleep you drift into hypnosis. In the morning, you drift out of that hypnosis/sleep to alertness. The same happens when you daydream r watch a movie. You decide when to break your hypnosis experience and return to reality. All you’ll have to do is open your eyes, stand up and stretch and you’ll be out of the hypnosis.

Can I listen while driving?

For obvious reasons, you should not listen to our hypnosis albums while you’re behind the wheel. The same is true for any situation that requires your full attention. The hypnosis album will cause you to relax and fall in a trance-like state. You would not want that to happen while driving or engaged in any activity that requires your full attention.

Can someone be hypnotized against their will?

People cannot be hypnotized against their will. Hypnosis is a powerful tool, but can only be used if the individual consents to be hypnotized. It is a matter of personal choice. Hypnosis can significantly influence the human mind and serve as an amazing tool for personal development, but that can only be achieved if you are open to the experience. Any form of resistance will undermine the process and you will not experience being hypnotized. All the is required is that you consent to being hypnotized, then relax, listen and follow the instruction that are given in our hypnosis album.

Will this interfere with my religious / spiritual beliefs?

We do not seek to alter the religious or spiritual beliefs of anyone, and therefore do not use any religious language in or structure our albums to change anyone’s religious beliefs.

There is a common thought out there that once an individual is under hypnosis, the hypnotherapist can control and get them to do whatever they desire. That is a myth. Humans have a mind that capably relaxes and enters a state of accelerated learning as they listen to positive suggestions. The mind gauges its response and acceptance of what is being said so there is never any loss of control during a hypnotic session. Whether, by your beliefs, you attribute human existence to God, Intelligent Design, or evolution, the human mind is not simply open to any mechanism of control. You control you own mind, and only through your permission can anything or anyone gain access to it.

How To Use The Albums


What is the best way to listen?

A nice comfortable seat, or a place you can lie down uninterrupted for 30 minutes is all you need. Settle down, relax and start playing our album – it’s as easy as that. Do not listen to the hypnosis album while driving or doing an activity that requires your full attention.

How often can/should I listen to the album?

 We advise that for the first week clients listen to the album once per day. Some people respond faster than others and will get to the deep trance stage quickly. Those people do not need to listen to the album as often. It will ultimately depend on how quickly you respond, as everyone experiences hypnosis differently, but we recommend that those who are new to hypnosis listen to the album once per day. That will allow you to adequately assess your reaction and then determine how often you personally need to use the albums.

There’s no harm in listening to the album more than once per day, but it is not necessary, plus the time in between sessions will allow you to assess and incorporate the new patterns of your choice into your life. Repeating the session the following day will facilitate the continued strengthening of the hypnosis benefits.

How long does hypnosis take to work?

 All our albums are effective, and you will experience some benefits from the very first session. Continuous use will produce a longer term, more permanent effect. We recommend that you use it once per day for a week as that will allow the benefits to build and for you to start seeing the changes. The benefits from using the album will increase within a few days as the more you listen the more readily your mind will accept the hypnotic commands and suggestions. They will become a part of who are, effectively changing your thoughts and behavior from deep within.

The length of time you have been struggling with the issue you wish to address and its depth will affect the length of time it takes for the benefits to take effect and for you to experience a lasting change in your life. If you have been struggling for years or you’re dealing with an emotionally challenging area of your life, then we advise you to use the albums continuously. Some people will experience the changes within one or two weeks while for others it could take a month or more.

Can I listen to multiple albums?


Yes, you can listen to multiple albums. That depends on your preference and your circumstances. We recommend that those who are new to hypnosis only listen to one album for a week. You can then assess your feelings and how it works for you before moving on or adding another album.

The length of each album is anywhere between 7 minutes to 45 minutes and that will limit the number of albums you can listen to for a single day. Once you have gained some familiarity with the process, you will be informed as to how you react, how you change and how you experience growth and the length of time you need to spend listening to the album. Establishing an answer for those experimental questions will allow you to determine what works for you.

Are the results permanent?

 Yes, the changes experienced during hypnosis are permanent!

People are often skeptical because they simply do not believe that they can fully free themselves from a huge problem that has been such a significant part of their life.  It becomes so much a part of them, they can’t see themselves letting go, even though it greatly hampers their progress and affects their quality of life. This is true of people who suffer from phobias such as fear of heights, snakes and crowds. People with huge problems usually do not believe something as simple as hypnosis can help them to overcome such massive problems permanently, and especially in such a short time and with such effectiveness.

 If you stop to think about it, phobias and other life situations that become a lasting problem can b e acquired in a short time. All it takes is one very brief traumatic event stimulating the right area of your mind to form a lasting negative an impression. This can be countered with hypnosis, stimulating the right area of the mind so that the positive suggestions override the negative impression and create a lasting positive impact in your life.

Am I falling asleep?

Some people do fall asleep during hypnosis. This would most likely occur when they go into deep hypnosis. It is very easy to find out if you actually fell asleep or was in deep hypnosis. If you answer yes to the following question, then you were at a very deep stage of hypnosis and that is fantastic! If your answer is no, then you fell asleep. At the end of the session, did you hear Srini as he counted from 1 to 5 or gave the wake up command? Here are a few adjustments you can make if you fell asleep.

  1. As you begin, sit up a bit more erect, maybe even all the way up, and allow yourself to get comfortable in that position then continue the hypnosis. That way you’ll be much more awake and possibly hear the whole recording. As the session progresses you can gradually change to a position that allows you to comfortably enter a trance without falling asleep.

  1. Position your arms so that they remain elevated. You can do this by gripping onto something that will keep them raised, such as draping them over the back of the sofa, armrest or hold on to your headboard. With a little practice, you will find that you can enter a trance in such a position and not fall asleep.
  1. Place a pen between your thumb and forefinger. Rest it atop your leg in a position that should your fingers relax fully and the pen falls it will fall on top of your leg so you’ll pick it up and continue with your session.

How long are your albums?

Our albums vary in length, but the average length is approximately 30 minutes. Hypnosis is natural and simple process that does not require 100s of hours for it to be effective. Thirty minutes of hypnosis per day will deliver the experience and benefits you need to get you on the path of healing and/or self-improvement.

Do I need headphones?

 It is good idea to use headphones as they will help to block out other sounds that may cause a distraction, but they are not essential. You can listen to our albums on a stereo system, or even your computer. Try to find an area where you listen to the album for 30 minutes uninterrupted.

 Do I need to speak English?

All our albums are presently only available in English so in order to benefit you would need to speak and understand at least a conversational level of English.
